Children's health is focused on their well being, growth and development from the time of conception through their adolescence. The growth and development starts from the time of conception and health is taken care along the time of conception. Health problems of children and ways of treating them can differ from that of adults. A child's response to an illness, medications depends on the the environment they are being brought up,  immunity of the body and age of the child. Children are seen more healthy when they are growing under the supervision of parents and / or grandparents as they are taken good care by providing them a good nutrition, proteins and vitamins in their daily food consumption.

We often see children fall ill or more prone to attract viruses. Common cold, fever, cough are very common and parents need not give medication immediately as they should be given some time for their kids to develop antibodies and morphemes. They should give time of at least one or two days time interval.  If the child is still sick then he or she must be taken to the hospital. Even though they are given less dosage medicines like paracetamol, tend to  reduce the production of antibodies which results in child's decreased immunity. Healthy food helps in healthy growth of a child. Infants must be breastfeeded at least for 6 months to 1 year. It helps in gaining more strength than any other alternatives. This helps the child in their physical growth like jaw development. The child must be  given all sorts of healthy foods other than popular packaged foods as they are in their growing phase for them to try and learn new things. children often tend it avoid food that they think they do not like but parents should not ignore it, but instead try  giving them again and again. It takes time for the kid to get adjusted. If we avoid giving them they shall end up eating plain rice or curd rice. Milk is not the only nutritious drink for the child. If the child doesn't want milk he or she can be given fruit juice, vegetables that are equally nutritious. chocolates and junk food must be completely avoided for children as tend  get attracted or get obese at a very young age that is very bad for their growth.

To keep child physically fit, food is not the only way but food is just one way. Apart from that a child has to have routine to keep sound health now and in future as well,  child must be active throughout the day. He or she must make a routine exercise in the morning, doing yoga and meditation A child must engage itself in outdoor games and indoor games equally. Hobbies help him/her to improve their skills, keep concentrated, to be active and also relaxing by themselves. Sleep is major thing a child needs for their  healthy growth, a child needs minimum of 8 hours of sleep to be healthy. These activities keep children more healthy and fit both physically and mentally. Mental health is equally important as physical health for an human. Nowadays due to technology and it's development, children are more addicted to electronic gadgets and are losing interest in these kinds of physical activities. which is also a reason for less creative thoughts and poor social behavior. There is a belief that children lose their eyesight by watching TV or phone from a very little distance and for prolonged hours. Spectacles for children in their young age is very common now.

Children often fall down and get injured. This is the age of learning, to keep them protected from infections. If they are injured heavily they must be injected with a tetanus vaccine. Children who do not take good care of themselves suffer from malnutrition. Some kids may suffer from nutritional problems which must be balanced with food and diet. In severe cases it is treated by doctors. Jaundice/yellow fever is the most common diseases found in infants, which can be treated by direct sunlight or artificial treatment is given in severe cases . Polio drops vaccine is made compulsory for children below the age of 6 by the government of India. Those are distributed free of cost to get rid of polio attacks.  child must be taken to regular health checkups to know the growth of the child. The government gives booster vaccines for kids with certain age groups to increase immunity power in children.

First Monday of October is celebrated as Child Health day. It is see that the mortality rate of infants are reducing. This is because of the awareness program created by government of India for some common disease and by vaccinating for free. This helps in creating awareness and can be helpful in protecting children from common viruses. Parents are far more conscious of their children's health now and are concentrating more on the development of their children in more healthier way by letting them have sound habits and healthy food.
